Magnus Berggren

Biography

​Magnus Berggren received his MSc in Physics in 1991 and graduated as PhD in Applied Physics in 1996, both degrees from Linköping University (LiU). He then joined Bell Laboratories as a postdoc in Murray Hill, USA. From 1997 to 1998, he was the founding managing director of Thin Film Electronics, a company focusing on the development of printed electronics. Since 2002, he is the professor in Organic Electronics at Linköping University and the director of the Laboratory of Organic Electronics, today including around 100 scientists. Magnus Berggren is one of the pioneers of Printed Organic Electronics, Organic Bioelectronics and Electronic Plants. In 2012 Magnus Berggren was elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, in 2014 he received the Marcus Wallenberg Price and in 2016 he was awarded the IVA gold medal. He is also the co-founder of 8 companies, such as DP Patterning and Invisense.
